Norigae is the ornament tied at the goreum, the ribbon that closes the jeogori. Before the form carried stones or pearls it carried knots. The traditional five-color knot pattern was the original ornament, taught from master to apprentice across generations. The cord and the knot were the work. Everything else came after.
There is no metal, no stone, no pearl. The piece is the cord and the knot and nothing else.
